Join DPC Patient Ambassadors such as Jeff Marshall

Jeff Marshall is a man who wears many “hats”: Those of professor, former political candidate, active church member, civic leader and founder of a political education organization with national membership, among others.  Of all his roles in his community in Houston, Texas, and beyond, one position he is most proud of is that of DPC Patient Ambassador.

Since he joined DPC in 2007, Jeff has been actively engaged in helping empower himself and other dialysis patients nationwide by speaking at local events, meeting with his state legislators and educating his fellow dialysis patients about their care on the days he receives treatment as well as his off days.

As a Patient Ambassador, Jeff participates in regular leadership trainings and recently traveled to Washington, D.C., where he met with six Members of Congress and their staffs to urge their support for kidney care education and quality reforms.  “These meetings allowed me to articulate what is going on in dialysis care, which we all depend on in order to live,” said Jeff.  “We as patients are not just someone on the outside looking in we’re affected by our lawmakers’ decisions daily.”
