Medicaid is not just a line item in a budget, it is a foundational pillar of health, dignity, and economic security for millions of Americans. It is a lifeline for our most vulnerable neighbors, including children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and working families who deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare.

Any attempt to cut, cap, or eliminate Medicaid funding is a direct threat to the well-being of our communities. Slashing this vital program doesn’t reduce the need for healthcare; it simply shifts the burden. It forces families into devastating medical debt, strains local state budgets, and threatens the survival of our hospitals and clinics, particularly in rural and underserved areas that rely on Medicaid stability to keep their doors open.

Furthermore, these policies create unnecessary bureaucratic red tape that penalizes low-wage workers, caregivers, and people managing chronic illnesses, risking coverage loss simply due to paperwork errors rather than actual eligibility.

Healthcare is a human necessity, not a luxury. We stand firmly opposed to any legislative or administrative maneuvers that seek to undermine, block-grant, or diminish the Medicaid program. We urge our policymakers to protect and strengthen this critical safety net, ensuring that every person has the care they need to live a healthy, stable, and fulfilling life.
